Humber College - Pathways to the Trades:
Humber College is offering an 8-week pathways program to help youth make a successful transition into the Skilled Trades. They are currently accepting applications for youth interested in the skilled trades: Finish Carpentry (Drafting, safety, introduction to tools, cabinet construction) AND Industrial Trades (Machine Shop, Welding, Electrical Controls). Participants will earn minimum wage to attend classes (30 hrs/week). If you’re exploring the trades and not sure what to pursue, this could be the program for you - whether you have completed high school or not. Training will be followed by an opportunity for a paid work placement for those students who attend all training and fully participate in employment prep workshops, including submission of all required materials. (Placements are not guaranteed). Please note: This program is designed to support youth (18-30 years old) who are currently unemployed, interested in exploring the trades, and are experiencing financial hardship. This Program Is Funded By The Government of Canada. More information on admission requirements, program support and work placement. Register virtual information sessions: for Finish Carpentry; for Industrial Trades.
