Our schools could face millions in cuts in Ward 4. These are some of the things that staff at the TDSB are proposing to meet the Provincial government's guidelines. All of these items fall outside of what the Minister of Education calls "core education" programming and we are being forced to make cuts or face the government taking over the school board.

Swimming pools – closing down Westview’s pool and firing the aquatic instructors at Emery and CWJ
Music programs –  cancelling of music programs in all of the local elementary schools
Special Education – the TDSB We are currently under funded by $40 million
After school permits – the TDSB subsidizes permits for after school permits. The Ministry of Education is pressuring the TDSB to increase fees to the point where many after school programs could be cancelled
1:1 devices – no primary school age student would get a device in any of our local schools
Adult learning programs – the entire program would have to be cancelled to follow the Ministry spending guidelines
